About the Author

Máximo César Castellanos is a 16-year-old bilingual author and illustrator of 22 books in Spanish and English.

From an early age, Máximo demonstrated the ability and talent to create stories. At the age of 3, Máximo began to create stories through drawings. His first visits to the library with his parents and brother ignited his passion for reading and made him wonder if he could one day publish a book just like the ones he was reading.

At the age of six, he wrote a story called Peter. The story is about a boy who escapes from an orphanage, befriends an alien, and the two have many adventures together. Máximo was 7 years old when he published his first book, Peter.

By the age of 13, Máximo was the youngest and the first author from the state of Delaware to receive a gold medal from the International Latino Book Awards in 2021. Since then, Máximo has been awarded three more gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 honorable mentions by the International Latino Book Awards.

Máximo is frequently invited to schools to talk to students about his writing process and experience as an author. He hopes to inspire students to become readers and writers, follow his example, and pursue their passions.

Máximo is frequently invited to participate in author events and book fairs, where he loves interacting with participants and talking to them about their books and common interests.

Máximo plans to continue publishing books to be able to share his stories.
